Her work is shaped by cross-cultural experiences and Afro-diasporic perspectives, with an emphasis on emotional authenticity and cultural nuance. Paradise Africa reflects her commitment to stories that bridge heritage and modernity for global audiences.

Director Statement

Paradise Africa was born from a deeply personal exploration of identity, displacement, and the quiet violence of erasure that often accompanies “progress.” As someone navigating multiple cultures, I was drawn to the tension between global ambition and ancestral grounding, between what we gain when we modernize and what we risk losing.
Jamila’s journey reflects a familiar conflict: the pressure to succeed by external standards while being emotionally disconnected from one’s roots. Nigeria, in this story, is not just a setting—it is a mirror. Through its people, rhythms, and resilience, it challenges Jamila to confront what success truly means when stripped of empathy and cultural awareness.
This film is also a love letter to living heritage, to places built not just with capital, but with memory, labor, and heart. Paradise Africa asks whether development must always mean destruction, and whether healing is possible after betrayal. Ultimately, it is a story about coming home, not to a place, but to oneself.

Directed by Olabisi (Bisi Akin) Akinbinu

Country of Origin: Nigeria

Runtime: 01:30:00

Category: Feature Film

https://www.facebook.com/akinbinu.olabisi

Posts by thebisiakin

https://www.instagram.com/thebisiakin

A driven corporate strategist is sent to dismantle a struggling African resort, but her growing love for the founder’s grandson forces her to confront the true cost of ambition, legacy, and belonging Director Biography – Olabisi (Bisi Akin) Akinbinu Olabisi Akinbinu, popularly known as Bisi Akin is a filmmaker and storyteller focused on character-driven narratives exploring …

[7

post-800","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-feature-film
["GET
